Phoenix & Fox

PhoenixvilleClockPhoenixvilleOutfit2PhoenixvilleOutfit

Jason and I spent one of our weekends perusing the suburbs of Philadelphia, diving into another grilled cheese tour stop (it's been awhile!) and enjoying some Sly Fox beer. Our grilled cheese tour stop was in a different neighborhood a little closer to Philly at a place called Melt Down Grilled Cheese. The most exciting thing was their weird soda fountain that carried cane sugar sodas. Below is the huckleberry soda which was amazing. Overall, the food was nothing to tell you much about (you can read the Yelp review though) - other than that sharp cheddar, apple, honey, and red onion are a great grilled cheese idea, but I think I can execute it much better. Anyone interested in a recipe?

After awhile of driving around haphazardly, we decided to sit back down, enjoy a beer and some pretzels, and recoop before exploring a bit of Phoenixville more. Sly Fox might be my favorite brewery now, if only because it has foxes. The beer is good too.

I kind of loved this outfit - the cardigan is my new favorite thing! And my Kate Spade x Keds are my first foray into gingham - and I gotta say I love it. I wanted to have a picnic shoot in this park with them! (But we had no picnic materials....)

  1. This place was in Phoenixville?! I actually went to school near there and it has changed so much in the past 10 years. I've never heard of Sly Fox but now I want to go! Your dragonfly printed cardi is making my heart skip a beat over here. Seriously Katherine - you have the cutest prints in your closet :-)

  3. I love Sly Fox! From January-February we went every week for their Sly Fox Boot Camp (basically you would come out for a beer every Wednesday and be enetered to win a trip to Ireland!)

You should come back out May 5th when they do their goat race (yes, you read that right). They have a festival in the parking lot with beer, food, music, and goat races. It's fantastic!

  8. That sounds like a delicious grilled cheese sandwich! And a yummy soda too! There used to be a soda fountain up in Wyoming in the town my grandparents lived in and I loved going to it, but it shut down about a decade ago :-( I love your cute little gingham tennies Katherine!

  9. You always find the best little food places. That grilled cheese looks pretty good, though I'm sorry it didn't live up to your expectations as much as it should have! It's been years since I've had one myself. The presentation of it is so cute, at least, with the text on the paper below it... aaaawwwe.

Hope you find some neat places around the area. :) I wish there were grilled cheese places around here. They seem like such neat themed restaurants.

Your cardigan really is cute, and I can see why you dig it. I adore navy and red together, so I totally love everything about what you're wearing. And how cute is your tiny bee necklace?!

  11. This outfit is adorable! I love the cardigan and the bee necklace. And now I have a very intense craving for grilled cheese! There is a little pizza place in New Hope that has cane sugar sodas... but I have a feeling that huckleberry soda was 10x better (they were good, but they were more "normal" flavors).
