DIY Love Bird Nail Art

I love birds, and it only makes sense that I have an animal themed DIY early in the new year, especially a nail one. Plus, this one is appropriately themed for Valentine's day - birds AND hearts. Feel free to only do hearts or just birds too -I chose bird silhouettes so they didn't get too overly complicated here.

What You'll Need

Solid Color Neutral Polish

Blue Polish

Red Polish

Clear Coat

Toothpick, Mechnical Pencil, or Nail Art Tool

Card Stock or Junk Mail

Paint your nails a solid color, I chose Essie in Chinchilly. Allow to dry for about 15 minutes.

 

Start with your red nail polisih - I chose Essie in Forever Yummy. Use a toothpick or mechnical pencil with some extra lead pushed out (this is how I do it!) and drop a few drops of nail polish onto a piece of card stock. I use junk mail for this! On the pinky and thumb, draw three hearts. Start with two small dots, then connect the dots in a v-shape to make a heart.

Next, on your middle finger with the same red polish, make a larger heart. Start with two larger dots in the center of the nail, then bring them together with a downward v to form a heart.

With your blue polish - I chose Essie in Where's My Chaffuer - on your ring ringer, draw a dot toward the side that is closest to your middle finger. Add another larger dot at an angle and a beak. Finally add a small line to make a tail then some little feet.

On your index ring, draw a dot on the side closest to your middle finger agian. Then add a fatter dot (this is your chubby bird) and a wing and beak.

Coat with clear polish on top and there you have it - Valentine's Day love bird nails.
