I don't think I have ever been quoted an hour and forty minutes for a wait time at a restaurant and actually waited for it. Being impatient, I am rarely in the mood to wait when it comes to food. But this was different. We arrived at Melt right at 5PM, and it was already packed full. We put our name in and fought our way to the bar - nabbed a seat and drank a few beers while we waited for a full table for five.

I am rarely patient enough to wait that long, especially if I'm hungry, I'm a rage monster when I'm hungry. But waiting at the bar and having beer is always a good option. Definitely looks like it was worth the wait!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your polka dot dress is so beautiful love it print mixed with the cardigan and that awesome plaid jacket!

I hate waiting any more than 20 minutes because I'm usually starving! That place sounds amazingly good. Love your adorable polka dot dress :)

Oh my gosh must you tempt me, the food looks so good!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, a visit to your blog has made me incredibly hungry. I can't tell you how jealous I am of your grilled cheese tour. And of course this polka dot dress looks wonderful on you (does anything NOT look great on you?).
ReplyDeleteSo hungry now! LOVE your dress, polka dots are my favorite ^^!
ReplyDeleteumm that looks amazing. we have a spot called "the melt" but i think its a bit different... still delicious. also your shoes are fabulous... as usual :)
ReplyDeleteYour grilled cheese posts always make me hungry! I love the vibe of that place - anywhere that has star lanterns is my kind of place :) I love your glitter flats!
ReplyDeleteAh man, I'm so glad that the wait was well worth it! I haven't had a grilled cheese in forever... wish we had somewhere like this near me!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I was raised vegetarian, and back in the 80's, you had to order grilled cheese at almost any restaurant if you wanted something meatless. Though I dare say the ones you're trying are much more awesome and adventurous than the ones I ate as a kid!
ReplyDeleteThat blazer is just beautiful! Is that macaroni and cheese on that sandwich? That's just too awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh this food looks sooo good. I don't know if I would ever wait that long for food, but it seems you think it was worth it!

Wow...I applaud your patience. I could never wait that long because I'm usually starving when I go to a restaurant! That mac and cheese grilled cheese sounds good...and so does the pulled pork and mashed potatoes. I really need to branch out on my grilled cheese fillin's!
ReplyDeleteI used to love Melt, but I think I'm kinda over it. By that I mean, they drastically changed my favorite sandwich and got rid of my other favorite. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. Their chili is bangin' if you're a chili fan.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best pictures! This place looks like so much fun and the food looks delicious!

Grilled Cheese Bar? Madness. You don't get any of those in Britain for sure. Ive also never been to one in my multiple trips to Texas, perhaps not a thing there. Also, what is buffalo tofu? It doesnt sound like a thing that can be possible.
ReplyDeleteI love the grilled cheese tour map. Andy and I always get a hot chocolate every where we go and are connesieurs of them. Maybe I should post some pictures and locations of us on our hot chocolate reviews.
Oh that jacket. I'm feeling the green. In fashion and interiors! #colouroftheyear
