Melted

So here it is, time for yet another grilled cheese tour stop. I really hit them up this time, right? Melt was quite the intense experience as they give you SO much food. They have a crazy variety of options to stuff your grilled cheese with, a lot of beers on tap, and a line so long you can't imagine it. We tried buffalo tofu, a pulled pork and mashed potato grilled cheese, and a macaroni and cheese grilled cheese. To read more about it, visit the Yelp review here. Or - visit this page to see the other places we have been on our grilled cheese tour.

I don't think I have ever been quoted an hour and forty minutes for a wait time at a restaurant and actually waited for it. Being impatient, I am rarely in the mood to wait when it comes to food. But this was different. We arrived at Melt right at 5PM, and it was already packed full. We put our name in and fought our way to the bar - nabbed a seat and drank a few beers while we waited for a full table for five.

  3. I am rarely patient enough to wait that long, especially if I'm hungry, I'm a rage monster when I'm hungry. But waiting at the bar and having beer is always a good option. Definitely looks like it was worth the wait!!
And your polka dot dress is so beautiful love it print mixed with the cardigan and that awesome plaid jacket!

  10. Ah man, I'm so glad that the wait was well worth it! I haven't had a grilled cheese in forever... wish we had somewhere like this near me!

  11. What fun! I was raised vegetarian, and back in the 80's, you had to order grilled cheese at almost any restaurant if you wanted something meatless. Though I dare say the ones you're trying are much more awesome and adventurous than the ones I ate as a kid!

  20. Wow...I applaud your patience. I could never wait that long because I'm usually starving when I go to a restaurant! That mac and cheese grilled cheese sounds good...and so does the pulled pork and mashed potatoes. I really need to branch out on my grilled cheese fillin's!

  21. I used to love Melt, but I think I'm kinda over it. By that I mean, they drastically changed my favorite sandwich and got rid of my other favorite. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. Their chili is bangin' if you're a chili fan.

  34. Grilled Cheese Bar? Madness. You don't get any of those in Britain for sure. Ive also never been to one in my multiple trips to Texas, perhaps not a thing there. Also, what is buffalo tofu? It doesnt sound like a thing that can be possible.

I love the grilled cheese tour map. Andy and I always get a hot chocolate every where we go and are connesieurs of them. Maybe I should post some pictures and locations of us on our hot chocolate reviews.
