Training Teemo

I just thought this one might be fun. Here are the tricks that Teemo can do!

Sit : He pretty much learned this right away

Down : This was weird. He doesn't go down like a normal dog. He just kind of flops over. He learned it after a few weeks.

Shake : This took me about a half a year or more to get him to understand what in the world was going on.

Beg : This took me over a year. He still isn't consistent about it.

Teemo is a lot harder to train, truthfully. He also knows come and stay - but you have to constantly remind him while he's doing them or he gets distracted. Raynor is smarter and more obedient, despite that corgis are supposed to be like 20 times more intelligent that basset hounds/beagles. Later in the month, I'll post Raynor's tricks!

PS. Like Teemo's collar in this post? The Mod Dog is having a winter sale - visit her site and enter code WINTER and get 20% off. Teemo's collar is this one.

  2. omgomgomgomgogm :)! I love those gifs! Bodhi doesn't shake yet, he getss distracted when I reach for his foot!

  3. This is such a cute post! Oliver picks up tricks quickly (he's food motivated) but Jinx is really stubborn. Oliver's best trick is that he can "dance", aka stand on his hind legs and spin around in a circle :)

  4. This is a fun post! I can't wait to train my future doggies haha. Cats don't do anything :') Well, at least now my cat will stand at two feet to reach for candy, that's already awesome haha.

  5. Love the little GIFs! So cool to see how Teemo actually moves. Adorable. Love beg! I wish I had the patience to teach Marly more interesting tricks than just sit, stay, and lay down. Maybe one day we'll get around to it!

  8. Casey and Teemo have the same collar from different shops! I got excited because I had never seen another dog with the same one. I love Teemo's tricks, I look forward to seeing Raynor's!

  9. Walter got sit, lay down, shake, roll over, and speak pretty quickly. Like less than a week for each. now, if I have a treat...he will sit and put his paw up ready to shake OR lay down and roll over really fast...without me saying anything. I have to re-teach him how to listen to what command I want. And he's terrible at stay and come.

  10. How adorable, I love this! I remember when we first taught our little doggy new tricks. Great photos! x/Madison

  11. This is adorable!! I want to teach Duke to bed, so far he can only sit, and shake a paw, and stay. For some reason he doesn't come when we call his name either, which is soooo ridiculous.
Love theses little gifs, so adorable

  12. The GIFS are the cutest! My dog has no problem with giving me her paw, but I can't get her to beg. She high fives instead :) x

  14. Oh gosh, begging is the one thing I wish my dog did not know how to do. He is just too cute to say no too! Love this :)

  15. Teemo is adorable!!! What is he, a corgy? My dog doesn't know how to hake (doesn't know? I didn't teach him:)), but he can beg like no other.:D

  16. My dogs ignore me most of the time when I tell them to do something. One of them comes when you call the other one. Alas! They're crazy. Your dog is freakin' cute, and he seems like a good boy!

May the force be with you.

P.S. I am seriously considering getting my hair cut like yours. But I've been trying to grow it out for a while, so I'd probably end up regretting it right now. Someday though...

  18. Aww, they are so cute! And they seem better trained than my children - they never obey! :)

  19. Oh my gosh! Too too cute!! I love how he licks his chops! And his little legs and paws are just too much!! Piri doesn't know many tricks. He knows sit, down, shake.. but only when I have a treat in my hand. I had an old video of my husband (then boyfriend) asking him to do these commands but in a super hyper way, which got Piri so excited that when he said shake he gave him both his paws and then got down when he was really saw sit and sat when he was really saying down. It was so hilarious. :)

  21. Haha- your dog is so cute. Ours got confused by shake too- except for The Boy's dog Max who "pounds it" (gives a fist-bump) instead of a regular handshake.

Your dogs are adorable, as always x

  23. Teemo for cutest corgi award! I love how he flops over instead of just laying down haha. Cute! I have a German wirehair pointer and when we tell him to lay down, he puts his front chest down first, then rolls his butt down, and finally rolls his tail down too. Such a delicate movement it is haha. :)

  25. I seriously cannot get over how cute your dogs are! It makes me sad I can't get any pictures of my dog, Bella though. She does some pretty cool tricks I would love to show off, but she's terrified of my camera. If Teemo's tricks are this good and Raynor's are better, I can't wait to see those.

  26. So cute! My dog is still in need of some training. Seriously. To get her to "shake" she seemed to respond to "high-five" better. So, that's how she shakes, giving high-fives. ha!

  27. Alas, The Corginator knows no tricks, except flop, drop, and roll when she doesn't want to go where I'm going. She's frighteningly smart, but trickless...lol.

  28. Neat! I took my Australian Shepherd into Petsmart yesterday, and a very nice pet trainer took him into his room for a free private session. He learned 3 new tricks in about 10 minutes. Apparently there is an Aussie in my state that knows 370 commands!

  29. so cute! my dogs are impossible to train, but we are still trying to get one of them to do shake. they will sit and that's about it, but they will definitely come to you if you have food haha.

  30. Can I come and steal him? He is beyond out of this world. My dumb (smart) dogs won't do any tricks. My staffie, Mila, can sit, but that's it. Jack Russel Jethro? He fetches balls.

  31. So cute! Fox can do a ridiculous amount of tricks, he loooves it. I only taught him one though, my man taught him the rest haha! Sometimes he'll just run through all his tricks though instead of waiting to be cued!
