No Bad Words for the Coast Today

One thing I really want to overcome is my fear of taking photos in public. I tend to scout out hidden locations, but this beautiful river front park is some where I had been dying to take photos. I started out small, on the far end of the outskirts of the city, and may slowly make my way down. It's not as interesting at this end, but it's a start to overcoming something that makes me very nervous.

Tell me, if you take your own photos with a tripod and self timer or remote, how do you handle the awkward feat of doing this in public? Please, please, please share your tips.

So voila, the beautiful Suquehanna River about 2 miles outside of the center of downtown Harrisburg and me making awkward faces as I take photos of myself with cars driving by.

  2. These are beautiful Katherine...and I know exactly where you are:) I've never taken photos at that spot before...but have on the walking bridge and City Island. All such lovely spots...and hello, that whole outfit is utterly perfect! I'm used to taking photo in public now, but have never done so with the tripod, just my hubby. Gorgeous as always! xx Marisa

  8. Oh Katherine I think you did such a great job on these! And kudos for conquering your fear! I read on someone's blog once to pretend that you're doing something for a class project when out taking photos! I'm not sure how old you look in real life but I know it would definitely work for me (I look all of 17 to most people!). Plus then you don't have to explain the whole blogging thing which can be a bit awkward sometimes (something I'm personally trying to work on myself).

  14. So cute, love that dress. When I used to do fashion shots a lot, I didn't mind when someone else was taking a picture of me in public.. but hated setting up my tripod if someone would see me! It just seemed weird. haha
