Dog leashes are usually not an item of interest for me - we only use nylon leashes because I'm pretty convinced Raynor would snap a retractable lead in half. Walking two dogs is always an ordeal, and why you don't see me doing it on the blog a lot because getting one dog to do what I want is hard enough. But yes, I have two dogs, and no, they both aren't corgis. What can I do to combat that? In comes TooferMe - a simple concept that works like a charm. Essentially it's a long nylon lead with strong clasps on either end for two dogs. You can use these loops as handles, to clip together to make handles, or to string multiple dogs on. Really, it's all about how creative you can get. I often use two loops, one to control Raynor, and one to make sure Teemo isn't getting dragged along by her, which is the hilarious part of this lead. Raynor ends up dragging Teemo a bit while he's 'doing his business' from time to time! But we love it, and are buying a second for a Christmas gift this year! These were some of the funnest outfit photos we have taken in awhile - I wore my puppy print dress and puppy necklace for a real 'puppy' themed feel - and laughed more than I have on an outfit shoot in a long time. They started play fighting in the photo below!

Last week I shared a yummy pumpkin pie simple syrup recipe - and here is the delicious creamy cocktail that goes along with it! Seriously, this tastes like you are drinking a pumpkin pie and whipped cream. Yum!

Raise your paw if you knew Hershey was a real city here in Pennsylvania? Not only do they make candy, but they have a few hotels, beautiful restaurants, and an amusement park. We took my sister in law to Chocolate World while she was in to visit and got some great massages at the Hotel Hershey. I smelled like a big Hershey bar - and it was such a great experience. We've decided we have to go back next year it was so nice. Gotta love a good day of being pampered in the sweetest place on earth. It's not like I haven't photographed Hershey here before, but here are some extra photos from the hotel, main street, and Chocolate World! We made our own candy bars (again!) so here are more photos of that (check here for when Jason and I went in 2011)

My sister-in-law and mother-in-law came into town last weekend, and I was so excited to take them to the White Dog Cafe. It's the cutest restaurant ever - full of dog themed things and I basically want to live there. I dressed for the occasion in my Poppy London Make a Wish Skirt since it features a pup. I also got to randomly meet Marine from Pictures & Paragraphs while she was at work across the street, which was a nice surprise!

After lunch and manicures (which, by the way, was my first one and was SO awkward) outside of Philly, we headed back to Lancaster for dinner at the Pressroom, which is becoming a quick favorite due to having a combination of my two favorite things : good French onion soup and hand crafted cocktails.

This simple syrup is one of my favorites I have ever made - it's a bit of a dark brown due to the brown sugar, but it really tastes like pumpkin pie. Stick around for a really yummy cocktail next week!

Have you seen Rifle Paper Co's designs? They are pretty much everywhere these days, and her style is lovely. I particularly felt her style of drawing flowers would work well for a fall floral nail design. I used this Christmas card as inspiration.

I am not a big fan of Halloween, perhaps because here in America it's a lot of awkward costumes and situations I don't like to be in. But the Day of the Dead has always seemed like a much more respectable holiday to me. Instead of being about scary things and candy, this holiday focuses on celebrating people who have passed by visiting graves or altars and eating food and drink they would have loved. Often their favorite things, like cigarettes or tequila are given at the altars. Unfortunately, not many members of my family drink tequila - I'm from a protestant bunch from Kentucky, so alcohol wasn't big in my mom's family. Myself? I love a good margarita, and with the end of the celebration of the Day of the Dead (it's a 3 day celebration, by the way, ending today on All Souls' Day) kicking off November, I figure a nice pear margarita to toast to our loved ones now gone would be a good recipe to share.

This will be my first and only post with my coveted new glasses. I knew exactly where I wanted glasses from if I ever needed them - Fetch Eyewear. They give their profits to animal rescue and have adorable frames - what is not to love? Really, everything is to love - free try ons, great frames. Only thing I don't love? Even though I recently got a prescription for the tiniest amount (.75 each - ha!) to possibly help my eyes out, it's not working out and each time I wear them it messes with my head way too much. I'm hoping to get a pair in sunglass form later this year, but in the meantime, here's my love letter because I loved these glasses and had to let them go. I had these in my purse to return while we were pumpkin picking, so I figured one feature before they went back wouldn't hurt. I'm still mourning - but picking out a white pumpkin at the local farm (which happens to be across from Target - oh where I live!) helped to cheer me up a bit.
