The Bird's Eye

I was surprised to be sent to the same conference I attended for work last year again this year, only this time on my own. Since I really wasn't all that comfortable spending two nights in Vegas alone, I decided to buy Jason a ticket and have him tag along so I could have some fun in the evenings. Plus, spending that whole year doing things alone means I really like doing trips and activities with him even more now. We flew out of Cleveland because my life is confusing, and yes, I drive 5 hours to get to an airport. I love how flying east to west it feels like I time travel.

I got this neon bike chain bracelet from ShopBevel, an online market that works similar to Quirky in that you get to vote for small designer's jewelry to get mass produced. It's a great idea really, and a wonderful way to bring small designers more audience. As well as get us all awesome pieces at a lower price. Create an account and get $10 off, by the way! Here's more about how it works if you are curious.

Jason met me at the Mandalay Bay, where we enjoyed drinks on the roof top. This all thanks to one of those guys whose sole job it is is to get people to come to their club/lounge/bar who we always ignore. The second this guy said 'view of the strip' though, I was right there. This place has such a beautiful view - and quite a relaxing evening too. I actually quite enjoy Vegas. I find it easy to find what I like (food, good drinks, views of cities) and avoid what I don't (like everything else).  There is something slightly glamorous about roof top bars and golden windows in this strange way.

  1. Uh, your nails are awesome. I wish I had the patience to paint such fun patterns. Looks like you had a great time! I was supposed to go to a conference in Vegas this week too, weird.

Instead, I went to Indiana Vegas: French Lick. I won 200 bucks so no complaints.

Love the bird pattern, too :) Happy St. Paddy's day!

  11. That's so great that Jason went with you! And great pictures! I love the one that overlooks Las Vegas. I've only been there once and we flirt with the idea of going back one day. Ah~~ so many places to visit and yet we feel like we're always strapped for opportunities. Great outfit as always! I love that you love having animals on your dresses/clothes!

  25. You look so cute and I'm definitely jealous of your Vegas trip! I tried to get a trip to Vegas together, but the boyfriend bailed on me (which was probably the prudent choice due to our lack of funds, but I'll never tell him that). It looks like you had a nice time relaxing in Vegas. I can't wait to go at some point!
