Independence Day

We had people over in our new home for the first time on the 4th of July. I was really excited and we pushed buying our brand new sectional couch ahead a month or two to accommodate the people. We enjoyed having our friends over for a cookout on the grill (Jason's first for a lot of people) and a lot of yummy treats. Our dogs totally loved everyone, met a baby, and ate wayyyy too much food.

Jason found me the perfect dress at Anthropologie when we went shopping for the couch, and I knew i had to wear it for July 4th. I love finding things on sale! And also, you get a little sneak peak of the home in progress. We are planning on painting the kitchen, but more on the living room will be posted soon!

  5. I'm in love with this dress. I love that it has both sailboats AND anchors! It's definitely perfect for the 4th of July. I didn't really have any 4th of July parties to attend, so I didn't really get all gussied up for it...but who really needs an occasion to get all gussied up anyway? Especially when it involves nautical things... :)

  20. You look so good in that dress and I'm so envious of you tattoo!! I'm still such a chicken when it comes to that "ink & pen" thing. Oh well...maybe one day.
Talking about Independence Day, I've been very fortunate this year to be able to stand on the American ground and celebrate this special day with all the Americans. Adding on with the spectacular fireworks and standing up with respect when the national anthem was sung, I guess it's hard to describe those feeling like I'm actually there =)
