It's spring 'officially', everyone is wearing pastel outfits, and here I am, in a snow flurry. I think that Akron is actually a snow globe. I swear, everytime I visit this town in the winter it's a snowy wonderland. And everyone can drive fine in it. We had a day to spend with friends in Akron since our dogs' kennel didn't open until 4pm. We spent the afternoon at Mr. Zub's with friends, a cute place in probably one of the cutest places in Akron, Highland Square.
This dress is courtesy of
August Wrinkle, an adorable online boutique I've kind of been obsessing over lately. It's small - run primarily by Janalyn, who is incredibly sweet - and it's a wonderful family owned and run business. Plus, the prices are actually affordable. When this arrived, I fell in love and packed it for our trip immediately. It's got a bit of wool blended in, so it's warm enough when layered for winter. Still, I'll say prancing around in a strapless dress in the middle of snow flurries is an adventure. It's no wonder I was sick for like 2 weeks straight. It's worth it though.

Even though the snow sucks, the flurries still do look pretty floating around you! And I just love the way you work colors together. I was sick myself this past week. I am just getting over the cold, and I'm glad because not being able to sleep due to a stuffy nose is the worst!

ReplyDeletethat aside - I love the dress. Also, its snowing in england too.. its so so so so cold. We've only had one day of sun so far this year booo xx
Haha! I've been walking in shoes that are not right for snow for so many years it doesn't phase me. I'm almost always cold, really, and it wasn't too windy on this day luckily! It was dusty snow, so it just blew off a few shots later :D
DeleteCute necklace! I also love that you utilized the artwork sculpture thingy as a coat rack! Smart girl~

Dang woman, you always have THE BEST nails! I love the whole look (that cardi! so darling!), but your nails always steal focus for a hot minute. :)

Your necklace is so cute and I love this dress too! I love how perfectly your nails and shoes match the dress. Sorry to hear about the remaining winter weather! We didn't get any snow this year so I enjoy seeing your snowy pictures. It's been unseasonably cold here in Georgia this week too.
ReplyDeletehappy spring! and omg snow!! but you have a lovely outfit to spread spring cheer :)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and the sweater :)
So cute, I am seriously envious of how you can rock dresses! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I fall more and more in love with every August Wrinkle piece that I see. This dress looks like it was made for you! And totally worth standing out in the snow.
ReplyDeleteOh and about the camera, I think I'm going to get it after I get paid this week! I'm looking at the Nikon D5100. I did a bunch of research on ones that are good for beginners and had my photographer friends help me choose one. I settled on that one since it was in budget, seemed a look beginner one but that would still last me a while, and like you said, all of my friends use Nikons so I can share lenses with them. Let me know if you have any other suggestions though! I love that I have you and all of my other blogger friends to help me out with this, I'm such a novice haha. But I am so excited!
I don't know why but it's always such a magical moment to see snowing pictures or scenery that's covered with snow. You look gorgeous in a cold day like this. You definitely know how to layer and wear the right outfit =)
ReplyDeleteoh, i love this dress! and we had snow here too! ah, i just want springtime, right?!

ReplyDeleteSomehow I missed this outfit. I don't know how, because it's super cute AND it's flurrying all over the place in these pictures. Double fun! I love how the band around your dress perfectly matches your shoes. Just lovely! :D
