I love cupcakes, and even more, I love doing something a little special to them. For my wedding and for my friend Becki's recent bachelorette party, I created my own cupcake toppers to make the little treats even more cute and fun. Here's a little tutorial on how to make them - you can do simple circles or even custom shapes!

I think Teemo deserves his own 'outfit post' every now and then - especially when I've been sick with the flu - so here's a super cute post for you. This year, Teemo is going as Spiderdog (or, as we have been saying, Spider-Weems after his nick name Weems) for Halloween. He's going to save the world with his adorableness. Other than that, Teemo can not shoot webs or jump from buildings.

I love dressing our pups yearly. Petsmart always has a good variety of costumes, go check them out here. Teemo has been a motocyclist and a penguin. Raynor has had her fair share of costumes too. But it should be noted some dogs do better with it than others. Raynor tolerates t-shirts, but beyond that, she kind of hates it so we keep putting her in things to a minimum these days. Teemo on the other hand could care less. He looks so sad in these photos though - we really have to work on making a face other than 'sad puppy eyes' for food. Just watch your pup - if they seemed really freaked out or bothered by it, don't force it on them!

Here's a little sneak preview of all of the fun things next week that came from my friend Becki's wedding! Her wedding was held at an inn overlooking the Ohio river with lots of quirky little buildings and structures. Jason and I took these while wondering around before the rehearsal actually started. Which, in typical Becki fashion, she was late to. I wouldn't have it any other way - made it all the funnier.

I love finding the demonyns for people who live in a certain place. I really enjoyed that someone who lived in Harrisburg was indeed a 'Harrisburger'. Cincinnati was a bit boring with Cincinnatian, and now living in Lancaster makes me a Lancastrian. Officially in September, Jason and I finally left what ties we had back in Ohio (minus the whole fact I still technically own a home there) by changing our licenses and cars over to the state. This really sadly means the loss of my 'OH HAI' plates since someone in PA already owns them.

 

 

I've taken to finding all the best things about this state, and the little small towns have been such a joy to visit. After 3 hours at the license bureau, we headed to Lititz to walk around for a photo shoot and a trip to Target. This might be one of the cutest little towns ever.

There is something about plums that scared me off for a lot of my life. I found them kind of hard to eat, and up until I realized I wasn't eating them ripe, I avoided them. Once I figured out what a ripe plum tasted like, it was delicious. It's quite the pairing with bourbon, especially with some plum bitters to match.

Let's talk about Teemo for a minute here, okay. My poor stylish little bud hasn't been feeling his best lately, most likely due to some heavy allergies to this area in Pennsylvania. While his 'sister' Raynor's allergies have subsided, his poor feet, nose, and ears have turned red and itchy. Teemo is mixed with what we believe is a type of terrier, probably Jack Russel, and makes him a bit neurotic. He cannot stop biting himself, so while he is healing and trying out new medicines, we have to keep him in the cone fairly often so he cannot bite. He's sneaky about it too. He will pretend to chew a bone, then move to his feet! It is so sad to see your pup in pain. I especially hate seeing Teemo in pain because he is such a trooper - even when he had his bout with dog flu he stayed happy and upbeat. I thought sharing how adorable he looks in his cone would be good - this dog looks adorable no matter what I put him in, I swear. I kind of envy that.

For most of my life, I avoided gold. I was a strictly silver person until the past two or three years. I don't mean like real gold - I really don't own anything that's a metal other than something-plated - but gold as a color. Lately, I've been drawn to things that are sparkly and warm - and my collection of gold shoes is getting larger. These hidden heels from Le Bunny Bleu are the perfect mix of gold and my 'everything with animals on it' problem. Their logo accent is just the perfect detail (because it's a bunny)! Plus, the red matches this dog print scarf perfectly. Have I mentioned my animal scarf obsession? Jen from Made in Minch sent me an owl one this summer, and I tracked down an eBay seller who sells ones exactly like them. I'm really all about anything that has an animal on it. So golden bunnies really get me.

This is a really simple cocktail based on the idea of a ginger ale and whiskey style drink. Instead of ginger ale, I used cider simple syrup to create a cider soda and then added Jack Daniels. So delicious!
