Browned Butter and Maple Sugar Cookies

Brown Butter Maple Syrup Cookies 2

These cookies have a really long name for what really should be called 'soft, tastes like graham cracker cookie.' I had been wanting someone like a maple cookie and experimented with a new recipe I made up from combining 3 recipes together for similar styles of cookies with my idea for maple.

What You'll Need
1 Stick Butter, Browned.2 cups flour // 2 tsp baking soda // 1 TSP cinnamon
½ TSP salt // ½ Cup Brown Sugar // ½ Cup + 2 TBSP Maple Syrup // 1 large egg

Dry Ingredients

Combine all of the dry ingredients together in a bowl (except the sugar).

Browned Butter in Pot

Brown the butter over medium heat. Allow to cool for about an hour until beginning to make the dough.

Combine the butter, sugar, egg, and maple syrup in your mixer. Slowly add in the dry ingredients. When well mixed, let the dough cool in the refrigerator for 1-24 hours.

Balls of Dough

Preheat your oven to 375 Degrees. Roll the dough into small balls and place on a slightly greased cookie sheet.

Cookies Pressed

Press the cookies down either in a cross hatch pattern with the back of a fork (as seen here) or with the bottom of a glass. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow to cool on a rack.
