Every now and then I am left with a weekend where I am alone in Harrisburg, and quite honestly, when I have no plans and am left to my own devices, I really cannot sit still. I ended up driving down to Maryland to visit Ikea, go shopping at a mall, and take awkward photos in a horse agility course (I'm not sure what these are called...Google tells me I am correct.)

The time has come where I need to start wearing coats out and considering turning my heat on - I haven't ran heat or air conditioning in my apartment since the end of August and it's been great. I wasn't made for the cold - if you find that I ever stop mentioning (or complaining I suppose) about the drops in temperature, either I'm in Florida or it's an impostor of me. Speaking of winter - my husband suggested a month of posts themed around his homecoming. What do you think?

This coat is a favorite of mine. I bought it in 2007 when we went to California, and I mistakenly thought I shouldn't pack a coat, even though it was December. My (now) sister in law and husband mocked my cape as a Harry Potter cloak - but look now guys - I'm totally in style 5 years later. My husband and I have found ourselves discussing the fact that we will be together soon and laughing wildly about how incredibly weird that is going to be. I have only lived in Pennsylvania alone really, and my time with Jason has been so encapsulated this year that I pack so many things in our time together because I know there is a near date where we won't be together. I already have our weekends nearly planned into January and am anticipating trips to Philly, Baltimore, Akron, Florida, and Cincinnati. For all it's worth, Harrisburg really excels at being a drive away to a variety of things and our homes.

The fall is in full effect, and driving home I find myself wanting to swerve over and just take a million photographs, but the fact that my drives are never less than 5 hours and that it's below 50 degrees and I'm not wearing tights stops me from doing so. I finally found a good fall jacket - I have to thank stores with petite sections dearly because my arms always look silly in normal people sized things.

Seriously though, we realized we looked like a girl band taking these. I'm kind of loving it. I had a nice weekend in Ohio and I got to meet up with Jessica & Rachel again and do a bit of shopping. We went to a thrift store and a little local boutique called Noto where I picked up the cutest necklace ever (it will appear soon, I'm sure.) Fall has finally hit around here, more so in Northern Ohio than where I am living, but still, tights and scarves are becoming a must now.

I quite enjoy bright colors and acting like a fool on rainy days. There is something about wearing the sunniest color invented on the grayest fall day ever that really puts a smile on my face. And it is finally cool enough to wear thicker sweaters and fall booties - which translates into being comfortable in my fox and rabbit sweater probably every week again like I did last year. Speaking of, I think today is my on the dot anniversary of moving to Harrisburg. Where has the time gone?
