Define Your Destination

While we stopped in quickly to grab some delicious barbeque and do a bit of shopping at Ron Jon surf shop, we had a strange encounter in Cocoa Beach. After shopping, Jason and I were running around doing the normal 'take outfit photos' drill that we do every weekend and trip. We grabbed some tea at a McDonalds across the street from where all these pretty, beachy photos were taken, and a couple came up to Jason. They asked if he was a tourist, and Jason just kind of stared. Then they called him a 'tourrist' - like terrorist plus tourist. It was strange. But really, I think we're going to get it a lot down here. Admittedly, with our little camera (and camera accessories) coupled with his new Birkenstocks, I probably am not setting us up for looking like anything but tourists where ever we go. But honestly, I'm okay with this. I'm pretty much a tourist where ever I go these days, so I better get used to these kind of things, right?

  1. You should make blog business cards and hand them out to people who stare/ask questions!

  2. Your Stitch necklace is the best! So adorable and I love how bright and fun your whole outfit is. Those blue flats look perfect with your colorful dress. It's okay to look like a tourist once in a while too. I probably do nearly everywhere with my big camera.

  3. Okay now that I just chopped my hair I have a big question: how do you deal with the heat in Florida and not being able to really pull your hair into a ponytail?

  4. I love being a tourist! I feel like I'm a tourist even in my own state because I love to see new places I haven't been and take pictures. But I also just really love anything cheesy that's meant for tourists. I also love how colorful this outfit is and that bag is awesome!

  5. Gorgeous colors in that. Admittedly, we do play the spot-the-tourist game (anyone in a straw cowboy hat), but have no problem looking like a tourist when I am one. I mean, you are. Enjoy it.

  6. I love the dress!!! And what's wrong with being a tourist? I love being a tourist in my own city! People are strange.

  7. Ah, I like the stitch necklace. It's seems exactly right for you. I've been recently reading a tumblr by a Disney Princess (as in dresses as one at Disneyland) and it's so cool. The costumes are amazing! And I love reading about someone who so clearly loves what she does.
