Pineapple in the Grass Cocktail

When I was first approached by Oddka Vodka, I almost disregarded it. I only really drink flavored vodkas (plain old vodka is a pass for me, along with gin), and it was until I realized that Oddka had some downright intriguing flavors that I wanted to give it a shot.

Do you remember those grass flavored jelly beans? The one that came in the overpriced Harry Potter boxes or whatever? Maybe they still have them (I'm sure they do, actually), but anyway, I used to go into the Jelly Belly store near my sister's when I visited and buy a bag of the grass flavored alone. I loved them. So when I realized that Oddka was offering Fresh Cut Grass Vodka, I pounced on it.

The scent is wonderful and refreshing as I expected. It's not overly grassy - you can pick up on some fruity scents in there. To me it almost smells like honeydew melon, grass, and cucumber. Which makes for deliciousness in my book - it's one of the better vodkas I've had. And what would it go better with grass than some fruity, fresh flavors? I love pineapple juice, and while since I've been to Hawaii it's never been quite the same (it's beyond amazing there, and I cannot explain what I mean, it just is), this was the perfect and most refreshing pairing for a cocktail. (I'm drinking this while I write, seriously, it's so good I had to make myself another.)

What You'll Need
Pineapple Juice
Oddka Vodka Fresh Cut Grass (see if it's available in your state here)
Lime Juice
Marashino Cherry
Pineapple (optional)

Pour 1 shot of Oodka Vodka Fresh Cut Grass, 2 shots of pineapple juice, and a splash of lime juice over ice.

Stir well.

Place a marashino cherry and chunk of pineapple on a toothpick or skewer. Place in drink and enjoy!

  7. I'm so glad you posted this! I saw that grass vodka months ago at my liquor store and wasn't sure enough that I'd like it to drop the cash on it, but now I'm totally going to! I love the idea behind the whole line and some other flavors (salty caramel popcorn!) look good to me too. I wasn't sure what would mix well with grass flavor (ha) but this drink sounds delicious!
