I am not normally a brave person. Really, I am still not sure how I managed to do this, and I am really glad that my friend Kayla likes photography and was just as into getting photos of this beautiful place as I was. I figured my only way in to this abandoned amusement park was to visit the flea market held every Sunday on its grounds. So when we found the flea market, I was surprised to see that it was in the parking lot, and not on the grounds of the parks like the pictures on the website I found said (in hindsight, the website was dated). We walked around and decided to go in from another entrance we saw when we first tried to find the flea market. Only thing was there was this guy in a truck like sleeping so we went to McDonald's and spent our time on Google trying to learn more about this place and the history. I found lots of photographers had gone here, and mostly that if we were careful and not disruptive to our surroundings, we would be fine.

ReplyDeleteThis has to be one of my favorite posts from you... I am so jealous of this adventure, props to you and being brave, I would have been so scared. I would have thought someone was going to pop out of one where and steal me away to clown camp forever... haha jk (kind of). Anyway... you look adorable in these pictures as well. I love that dress.
ReplyDeleteI really really need to make my way to PA soon. I miss that state.

Geuaga Lake! We should go there! I really want to go as my husband worked there in high school, but it's abandoned now and looks cool.
ReplyDeleteI've always been enthralled by forgotten, abandoned places and I really love how artistic these shots turned out to be. Better still that it was an amusement park. It made it all the more magical.
